A small shop with fast turnaround

A lifetime around brass, in a quiet corner of Columbia County.

Taconic Brass is a one-person repair shop. I specialize in trumpets, cornets and trombones — dents, valves, slides and soldering — and do cleaning and minor work on the rest of the brass family. I've been maintaining my own horns for over fifty years, and running a full repair bench for more than a decade. Most customers are in and out the same afternoon.

Meet Rob

Player first, then repairman.

I'm Rob Fisch — a working trumpet player who got serious about the bench because I wanted my own horn to play right. I've been maintaining my own instruments for fifty years, and for more than a decade I've been doing it for other players, too — gigging on weekends and at the bench the rest of the week.

I teach a little, too — trumpet lessons for students of any age, and jazz instruction for any instrument.
